The TASER M26C uses replaceable cartridges which have 2 - 15' wires coiled inside, each with a sharp barb on the end. Once fired, the barbs, or electrodes, are launched up to 15 feet towards your subject. The barbs can penetrate up to 1" thick of clothing. Once penetrated, either clothing or skin, the wires deliver the electric current to the subject. While the voltage and amperage of a TASER Gun are lower than those of direct contact stun guns, the current is much more effective. This is because TASER uses their patented Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation technology in their electrical current. What this means is that the current the TASER Gun generates mimics that of the human body. So, once the electrical current is delivered into the human body, the body's brain and central nervous system cannot discern what's going on and "freaks out". The brain and nervous system doesn't know what to do. Further, the M26C can also be used as a direct contact stun gun in a close encounter situation. Simply pop out the cartridge and its ready for use as a stun gun.

Here's more information about the "type" of electricity generated by the Enforcer that was discussed earlier: The voltage keys in on the neural muscular system and disables voluntary muscle control, dropping the target in two to five seconds. It is no surprise that Electronic Control Devices, such as the PHAZZER Enforcer, not only are effective in protecting the users safety, but also provide a safe alternative in subduing rather than injuring the target.
The PHAZZER Enforcer has been tested for safety and will substantially reduce the likelihood of serious harm or death as compared to alternative methods of self defense.
